 Great Ships and Lighthouses

Cruise upriver past the beautiful 20 acre waterfront campus of the Museum and the historic buildings of its Percy and Small Shipyard.

  • See the massive sculptural evocation of the Wyoming, the largest commercial wooden sailing vessel ever built, sitting where it was constructed and launched in 1909.
  • Cruise past Bath Iron Works, building the most technologically advanced warships for the US Navy.
  • Approach the lovely waterfront of Bath, the City of Ships - cruising downriver you will enjoy the 400 years of shipbuilding history on the river the Abanaki Indians called “long quiet waters.”
  • Lighthouse lovers will delight at up close views of Doubling Point Lighthouse and the Kennebec Range Lights.
  • Savor the natural beauty of Maine's coastline and be sure to watch for bald eagles, osprey, seals and flying sturgeon.

The Sagadahoc's professionally trained crew provides fascinating narration and a safe, comfortable cruise.  Food and beverages are available for purchase onboard.  Guests are welcome to bring aboard a picnic, but coolers are not allowed onboard.  Due to Maine liquor laws, guests may not bring alcohol onboard, but beer and wine are available for purchase.

Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a weather cancellation.  The Sagadahoc is a covered boat and usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions.  Cruises may be cancelled in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions or unmet minimum ticket sales, and cancellations are made by the Captain on the day of the cruise.  If the Museum cancels a cruise, you will have the opportunity to reschedule, or receive a refund.

The temperature on the water can vary throughout the day.  Please come prepared with extra layers. Access to the boat requires negotiating a ramp down to the float, and then boarding steps into the boat.  We are not able to accommodate wheelchairs.
